Der Gewinner erhält den Ehrenpreis der Melanie Gräfin Khevenhüller-Metsch Erdödy.
Melanie Gräfin Khevenhüller-Metsch war eine der Pionierinnen in der Österr. Automobilgeschichte. Als Mitbegründerin des Österreichischen Automobilclubs hat sie auch in den Anfangsjahren lange im Vorstand des Clubs aktiv mitgewirkt. Ihre Begeisterung für das Renngeschehen hat sie schon in den Anfängen des letzten Jahrhunderts dazu bewogen, immer wieder Autorennen zu organisieren und auch selbst daran teilzunehmen. Ihr Auto, der „Mercedes Simplex 1904“, ist seit dem Jahr 1905 im Besitz der Kärntner Familie Khevenhüller-Metsch. Der originale Wagen der Gräfin, gesteuert von ihrem Urenkel Kari Graf Khevenhüller- Metsch, wird außerhalb der Wertung an dieser Fahrt teilnehmen.
Den von der Familie Khevenhüller-Metsch und dem Österr. Automobil Motorrad und Touring Club (ÖAMTC) gestifteten reproduzierten Wanderpokal von 1909 (Original im Museum Familie Khevenhüller) haben bisher gewonnen:

Der Automobil Veteranen Club Austria (AVCA) veranstaltet diese Fahrt um das „Museum auf Rädern“ auf die Straße zu bringen. Die Umgebung von Geinberg ist leicht hügelig und daher für die Automobile bis einschließlich Baujahr 1918 besonders geeignet. Kleine Nebenstraßen gibt es im Überfluss, so dass der normale Straßenverkehr nicht gestört wird.
Die Streckenführung ist auf das Leistungsvermögen der Fahrzeuge bis Bj.1918 abgestimmt. Doch sollte bei der Auswahl des Fahrzeuges berücksichtigt werden, dass Tagesetappen von rund 150 Km gefahren werden und immer mit leichten Steigungen und Bergabfahrten zu rechnen ist.
Teilnahmeberechtigt sind alle Automobile und Motorräder bis einschließlich Baujahr 1918, keine Pannen und Schlepphilfe für Motorräder
Der AVCA setzt voraus, dass die Automobile in originalgetreuem technischen Zustand sind und eventuelle Änderungen dieser Zeitepoche entsprechen. Voraussetzung an der Teilnahme ist die Baujahrgrenze 1918! Baugleiche Typen aus einer späteren Fertigungs-Epoche können nicht angemeldet werden.
Gewertet wird laut Baujahrdefinition der Fiva in zwei Klassen:
Klasse A: „Ancestor“ Automobile bis zum Baujahr 1904
Klasse B: „Veteran“ Automobile 1905 bis 1918 (3 Klassen)
Klasse B1: bis 2000 ccm Hubraum
Klasse B2: bis 3000 ccm Hubraum
Klasse B3: über 3000 ccm Hubraum

Aus organisatorischen Gründen ist die Teilnahme auf 40 Fahrzeuge, besetzt mit 2 Personen, begrenzt. Weitere Beifahrer sind natürlich willkommen, allerdings nach Rücksprache, da die Hotelzimmer für Teilnehmer mit Fahrzeugen reserviert sind.

The winner will receive the honorary prize of Melanie Countess Khevenhüller-Metsch Erdödy.
Melanie Countess Khevenhüller-Metsch was one of the pioneers of Austrian motoring history. As a co-founder of the Austrian Automobile Club, she also played an active role on the Club’s board for many years during its early days. Her enthusiasm for motor racing led her, as early as the beginning of the last century, to organise car races time and again and to take part in them herself. Her car, the “1904 Mercedes Simplex”, has been owned by the Carinthian Khevenhüller-Metsch family since 1905. The Countess’s original car, driven by her great-grandson Kari Count Khevenhüller-Metsch, will take part in this event outside the classification.
The reproduced 1909 challenge trophy, donated by the Khevenhüller-Metsch family and the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) (the original is in the Khevenhüller family museum), has so far been won by:

The Automobil Veteranen Club Austria (AVCA) organises this event to bring the “museum on wheels” back onto the road. The area around Geinberg is gently hilly and is therefore particularly well suited to automobiles built up to and including 1918. There is an abundance of small secondary roads, so normal road traffic is not disrupted.
The route has been designed to suit the performance capabilities of vehicles built up to 1918. When selecting a vehicle, however, participants should bear in mind that daily stages of around 150 km will be covered and that gentle uphill and downhill sections are to be expected throughout.
All automobiles and motorcycles built up to and including 1918 are eligible to participate, no breakdowns and towing assistance for motorcycles
The AVCA requires automobiles to be in technically authentic condition, and any modifications must be appropriate to the period. The 1918 year-of-manufacture limit is a mandatory condition of participation! Identical models from a later production period cannot be entered.
In accordance with the FIVA year-of-manufacture classification, vehicles will be scored in two classes:
Class A: “Ancestor” automobiles built up to 1904
Class B: “Veteran” automobiles built from 1905 to 1918 (3 classes)
Class B1: up to 2000 cc engine capacity
Class B2: up to 3000 cc engine capacity
Class B3: over 3000 cc engine capacity

For organisational reasons, participation is limited to 40 vehicles, each occupied by 2 persons. Additional passengers are, of course, welcome, but only by prior arrangement, as the hotel rooms are reserved for participants with vehicles.
